I got the idea to use the features on Google Calendar to give myself fun little assignments to do throughout the year. I'll be receiving e-mail "reminders" of "events" such as "read a poem today" or "go browse at a bookstore this week," or "listen to at least one song on headphones this week." I'll probably be adding more as the year goes on - we'll see.
If you want to use my calendar for ideas, you can look at it here. Click on the "agenda" tab on the right for a full view of the names of the events. (I thought I might be able to sign people up to receive event alerts, but I couldn't quite see how that would be possible. If you want to receive e-mail reminders for the events on my calendar and can figure out how to do it, let me know.)
